wildlife conservation, wild animals, arroyo viejo creek,  The Oakland Zoo is looking for dedicated volunteers who love nature, want to learn more about creek habitats, and who don't mind getting a little dirty. So grab your garden gloves and join our amazing teem of volunteers who are part of Arroyo Viejo Creek Restoration Project.

Volunteering Information

Time: 9:00am-12:00pm, every third Saturday of the month (except June and December).

What to Bring and Wear:
We will work in rain or shine, so come prepared! Bring sun block, sun glasses, hats, and dress in layers! Wear shoes that can get dirty. Shoes must be close-toed. Don't forget your water and snacks. Gloves and tools will be provided.

  • One adult chaperone is required for every 4 youth volunteers, 13 years of age and younger.
  • One adult chaperone is required for every 8 youth volunteers between 14 - 18 years of age.
