EDUCATION BIRTHDAY PARTIES

Birthday Party Program

Education Birthday Parties are designed for children ages 3-8.
We are now offering birthday packages for ages 9-17. Contact the Birthday Party Coordinator at birthdays@oaklandzoo.org for more details.

This two hour indoor party includes:

• 1 hour themed program in our Discovery Room featuring an age appropriate story, live animal presentation and a fun animal enrichment craft.
• 1 hour in Celebration Room for refreshments and presents.
• Zoo and party admission for up to 20 guests (including the birthday family, all adults, children and infants). Additional guest passes may be purchased to a grand total of 40 guests.
• Parking passes for 10 cars.
• 15 Zoo themed gift bags.
• A gift for the birthday child.
• Eco-friendly tablecloths, napkins, cups, cake size plates, and utensils for to 20 guests.
• Happy birthday banners.

Birthday Themes (choose one):

• While you were sleeping...
  Focus on: nocturnal animals.
• Incredible Inverts!
  Focus on invertebrates.
• Animals Around Us
  Focus on: North American animals.
• Happy Herpday!
  Focus on: Reptiles and Amphibians.

Party Times:

10:30am-12:30pm or 1:30pm-3:30pm*
(Note: adding a guided tour changes the start times to 10:00am and 1:00pm)

Birthdays are available on weekends and please keep in mind that these spaces fill up fast.
We recommend reserving your birthday at least 8 weeks in advance.
*For afternoon parties, please keep in mind that the Zoo closes at 4:00pm (or 6:00pm during summer).

Party Cost:

Fee: $320.00 for members / $370.00 for non-members.

You can also add:

• A 30 minute guided Wayne and Gladys Valley Children's Zoo tour based on your theme: $50 each.
• Additional children: $10 each (includes gift bags).
• Additional adults: $5 each.
• Additional gift bags: $6 each.

You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks but we can also provide:

• Half sheet cake (feeds 25-45 people): $55.
• Pitcher of juice (apple, orange, or grape): $5 each.
• Large basket of Goldfish crackers or pretzels: $3 each.

A $50 deposit is due at the time of reservation. The balance is due two weeks prior to the party.

REFUNDS DUE TO PARTICIPANT CANCELLATION

• Cancellation more than 14 days before the event = 90% refund.
• Cancellation less than 13 days but more than 8 days = 50% refund.
• Cancellation less than 7 days before the event = 0% refund.

• Memberships fees are non-refundable.
• Programs are held rain or shine.
