The Oakland Zoo presents a variety of programs for teachers, both at the Zoo and through our outreach programs. Here is some information to help you take advantage of what we offer:
Days of Operation:
We are open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas, weather permitting: on very cold or stormy days, the Zoo may not open.
Admission Fees:
Admission fees are subject to change. Regular admission is $6.00 for children and $9.50 for adults. For groups of 12 or more (or any size group of disabled persons), the discount admission is $4.50 for students and $5.50 for adults.
Parking Fees:
Parking is $6.00 per car and $10.00 per bus.
Large Group Reservations:
All groups of 12 or more people require reservations and a $50.00 deposit at least 2 weeks in advance.Click here for a reservation form or call 510-632-9525 x117 for more information.
ZooSchool Field Trips:
ZooSchool Programs are $215-$245. This price includes Zoo admission for the class (class size limits vary) and up to 6 adults (including teacher). Classroom programs must be booked well in advance. Click here for more information.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Name tags must be attached with string or tape. For the safety of our animals, no pins of any kind are permitted
The weather is variable, so dress warmly and in layers. Classroom Workshops go on rain or shine. Docent Tours may be rescheduled in the event of rain.
Docent Tours and Teacher Workshops are also available.
