EDUCATION IS CONSERVATION
The Oakland Zoo offers a variety of on-site field trip programs, outreach programs and teacher resources. Our programs fill up fast, so call 6-8 weeks in advance to help you reserve the date that works best for your group.

BOY SCOUT PROGRAMS
Boy Scout Overnights
Come bring your pack to spend the night at the Oakland Zoo. These large group overnights are designed to accommodate up to 100 scouts and their chaperones.
An Oakland Zoo education specialist will lead your group on an evening night hike around the zoo where you'll get a look at what the zoo is like after all of the guests leave. Afterwards, enjoy snacks and participate in fun activities before heading to bed in the auditorium of our Education Center.
In the morning your group will enjoy a tasty continental breakfast in the Maddie's Center for Science and Environmental Education and pack up all of your things. After breakfast you'll get the chance to meet one of our education animals, and then get ready to take a morning tour to see some of the animals before the guests arrive. Once the program ends you may head back home or feel free to take the rest of your morning to visit the zoo with your group.
Groups arrive at the zoo at 7:00pm and the program ends the next morning at 9:45am. These overnights are offered in the spring and fall by reservation. Rain or shine, this night is sure to be a memorable experience that everyone will enjoy!
